Fighting bad design in Apple products one thing at a time.
The blog went down with a Posterous boat and all the recent posts are lost. I am looking into switching to a self-hosted solutions meanwhile. Sorry for the inconvenience.
iOS: Dual accounts bug
There is a bug in App Store which prevents you to update apps once you’ve logged into US account from your device. That if your main account is non-US of course.
Some might ask why would anyone need 2 accounts? Best things in life are are available only in US Store, from Google Earth to music.
But don’t log into your US account from your iDevice. You won’t be able to update apps from iDevice, only from the Big Brother. No matter what it will always use the US account. And you can’t reset it back, you can try logout, login, sync, whatever. From now on your will have to use your computer if you want to update your apps.
Also check out the new App Store, once you’ve got something [INSTALLED], you can’t even re-download it anymore. I think the only way to fix this is to Restore your iThing.
Dear Apple, please pay attention to how App Store.app works if you’re not in USA and fix it. Thank you.
iOS: JailbreakMe.com and security hole.
Everybody heard of the new jailbreaking site JailbreakMe.com it can jailbreak your phone right from the web browser, incredible.
Although it’s interesting that security hole this big is existing and exploited. For good yet, but the ability of running code from web-page on a device is bit unsetting…
Invert autocorrection behaviour in iOS
Dear #Apple, please invert the iOS autocorrection behaviour. Tap for suggested version, else: ignore.

iOS: Save photos and images properly rotated
Oh, what’s that with an image? Why is it in portrait instead of landscape? Because iPhone saves images regardless of orientation that’s why.
Dear Apple, since iPhone and even Mac OS are detecting orientation just fine, could you please make it so Screengrabs and Photos are saved with correct orientation? Thank you.
iOS: Dear Apple, I am not an American.
I did not buy the App I am trying to update in US App Store, I am not logged in with my US account… I am just trying to update it.
Could you just let me update my apps without all these nags and redirects to US store where it can’t be updated anyway please? Fix those bugs with dual accounts. Thank you.
Please either add the ability to retain fonts (and all their settings) when importing Keynote, Pages, and Numbers documents from computer to iPad, or else please create a simple font management tool for the iPad that allows us to import reasonable subset of our fonts to the device.
And that not even speaking about lack of italic Helvetica Neue in iOS4.
