Fighting bad design in Apple products one thing at a time.
The blog went down with a Posterous boat and all the recent posts are lost. I am looking into switching to a self-hosted solutions meanwhile. Sorry for the inconvenience.

So here’s the thing. In Firefox, you can type y-a-h-o-o, hit Return and the browser is smart enough to presume you meant yahoo.com, adding the .com and whisking you away to the search portal’s main page. Safari 5, however, will not give you the top-level domain unless you frequent the site regularly or bookmark it — even then it won’t necessarily pop up top.
Too bad they forgot to mention really important things like that you can’t even edit or copy the link Safari found, that it doesn’t search in history unless you explicitly choose ‘Search in History’ below…
But anyway I’m glad that somebody else is trying to point Apple at obvious things, maybe together we can change situation a bit. I mean with all their money why not put up some Apple Captain Obvious R&D Division which gonna read what people write about issues in their products and just fix the problems on everyday basis.
