iTunes is running the asylum
Imagine you leave your iPod to charge and get some new songs synced overnight or while you’re taking a shower before going somewhere. And when you’re about to pick it up and jet you are greeted with this dialog instead. Just great, nothing is synched but at least it got charged, sigh. This reminds me of a quote from “The inmates are running the asylum” by Alan Cooper:...

Jobs never has had to schedule his own...
I can’t remember if this is my own theory or I read about this on Daring Fireball or something, but the Apple products & services that Apple does well are the ones that Steve Jobs uses (or cares about) and the ones he doesn’t use/care about are less good (or just plain bad). Jobs uses Keynote and it’s very good…but I’m pretty sure Jobs never has had to...

Is your iPhone spying at you?
Turns out actually yes. iPhone silently stores your location information in a file all the time. For some phones, there could be almost a year’s worth of data stored, as the recording of data seems to have started with Apple’s iOS 4 update to the phone’s operating system, released in June 2010. “Apple has made it possible for almost anybody – a jealous spouse, a...

10% of Apple computer revenue comes from selling...
This “Apple’s innovative AC adapter” is truly The Worst Apple Product. I just bought the new charger a few days ago and it’s dead already! Fucking great, and of course I didn’t keep the receipt. $100 down the drain, ha, who counts, right? I want my money back for battery charger too, which lasted maybe only a week. But you know Apple, instead of making stuff that...

More reliable chargers would be nice
I am not making this up, this is the Apple Store page for the MacBook charger in app store. It is rated at one and a half star currently. I wonder if there is the worst Apple product at the moment? Guess why am I writing this? You’re right, mine just died. Dear Apple, I’m bit tired of spending money on chargers. And while you’re busy fixing them, could you also please...

Letterbox Mail
Dear Apple, could you please add the letterbox view option to Mac OS Mail.app? Screens are getting wider and wider, but barely taller. 11” Macbook Air has only 768 pixels vertically. It’s hard to see the message list together with the message body on a single screen when they are positioned one under another. Usually all you can see is the message header and a few first lines of...

10 Things That Simply Need To Be In iOS 5
Nice post at MobileCrunch which sums up some wishes for iOS, almost all of them already been covered on Dear-Apple, but anyway: 1) A Better Notifications System Compared to even the weakest competitors, iOS’ current notification system is absolutely friggin’ laughable. It was understandable, up to a point; back in the ol’ days before the App Store, the only notifications iOS really had...
